Subang Airport
Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, LTSAAS (IATA: SZB, ICAO: WMSA) (formerly
Subang International Airport), often called Subang Airport or Subang Skypark, is
an airport located in Subang, Selangor, Malaysia. The Airport is located at
around 28 km away from Kuala Lumpur city center.
The airport is located at an elevation of 89 ft (27 m) above mean sea level. It
has one paved runway designated 15/33 oriented by measures of 3,780 ft (12,402
m) in length with asphalt surface.
The Airport primarily serves general aviation and some turboprop domestic
flights. Before the opening of the Kuala Lumpur International
Airport (KLIA) in Sepang on 1998, Subang International Airport served as
Malaysia's main airport.
Apart from military and private jets, Subang Airport now caters for
Batik Air and
Firefly
for some commercial domestic flights and flights to Indonesia and southern
Thailand.
Firefly
also operate schedule flights to Singapore from this Airport.
Berjaya Air was operated scheduled flights from this Airport to
Tioman,
Pangkor and
Redang Island but now suspended.
Public Transportation
Taxi is the easiest way to get in and out of the Airport. There is a taxi booth
inside the terminal building, so arriving passengers can directly go to the
booth and get on the taxi right away.
Buses from Subang Skypark toward Pasar Seni (Central Market) in Kuala Lumpur
city center are Rapid KL bus no. U81 (also stops at Asia Jaya and KL Sentral).
The bus ticket is RM2.00 per way and start operate as early as 6.00 am till
midnight.
KTMB Skypark Link is the latest public transport mode connecting
Subang Jaya
and KL
Sentral KTM Komuter Stations from Subang Skypark. The Skypark Link is a
train service that connects you to the Skypark Terminal Subang Airport. For
those who are using KL Sentral - Subang Jaya - Terminal Skypark Route, this
service will be very convenient, time saving and affordable.
