Redang Airport
Redang Airport (IATA: RDN, ICAO: WMPR) is an airport on
Redang Island (Pulau
Redang), one of the largest islands off the east coast of Malaysia. The airport
was briefly closed in 2009 for runway expansion, reopening on April 16, 2009
after the facilities upgraded.
The Airport has one tarmac surface runway, oriented 02/20, the length of runway
is 3084 ft (940 m) with elevation 10 ft (3 m) above sea level. The airport is
managed and control by Malaysia Airports Sdn Bhd.
Berjaya Air was provided charter services flies direct from the
Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (Subang Airport)
and Changi Airport Budget Terminal (Singapore) to Redang Airport but now has
suspended the service.
The airport act as main tourism gateway for visitors wishing to experience one
of the most beautiful and quiet beaches in east coast of Malaysia.
