Japan Airlines Baggage Policy
Passengers travelling with Japan Airlines from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) are permitted to carry the following:
Carry-on Baggage
Passengers travelling on Japan Airlines international flights departing from
Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) may bring the following cabin baggage
allowance:
• All Classes: 1 cabin bag + 1
personal item, with a total weight of up to 10 kg (22 lbs).
Each cabin bag must not exceed 55 cm × 40 cm × 25 cm,
including handles and wheels, and the total dimensions of all carry-on baggage
must fit within the aircraft cabin storage requirements.
Carry-on baggage
is subject to security inspection at KLIA. Items exceeding the permitted weight
or size limits must be checked into the aircraft hold, subject to applicable
baggage regulations.
Checked Baggage Policy
Checked baggage allowance for Japan Airlines international flights is based on
the passenger’s travel class and ticket conditions:
• Economy / Premium
Economy Class: 2 pieces, each up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• Business / First Class:
3 pieces, each up to 32 kg (70 lbs).
Each checked baggage piece must not
exceed 203 cm (80 inches) in total linear dimensions (length + width + height).
The maximum permitted weight for a single checked baggage piece is 32 kg.
Bags exceeding this limit must be repacked or transported as cargo in accordance
with airline requirements.
Passengers are advised to confirm the baggage
allowance stated on their ticket before travelling to Kuala Lumpur International
Airport.
Extra Baggage
Additional baggage
allowance may be purchased for eligible Japan Airlines flights before departure,
subject to route, fare conditions and availability.
Excess baggage
charges apply when baggage exceeds the permitted allowance in terms of weight,
number of pieces or dimensions.
Sports equipment, oversized baggage and
special items may require advance arrangements and may be subject to additional
charges or handling requirements.
