Air India Baggage Policy
Passengers travelling with Air India from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) are permitted to carry the following:
Carry-on Baggage
Each passenger departing from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on Air
India flights may bring the following cabin baggage allowance:
• Economy
Class and Premium Economy Class: 1 cabin bag up to 7 kg (15 lbs).
• Business
Class: 1 cabin bag up to 10 kg (22 lbs).
Each cabin bag must not exceed
55 cm × 40 cm × 20 cm, including handles and wheels, and must fit in the
overhead compartment or under the seat in front.
Passengers may also
carry one small personal item, such as a handbag, laptop bag, or small personal
item, subject to Air India’s guidelines and security requirements.
Carry-on baggage is subject to security screening at KLIA. Baggage exceeding the
permitted size or weight limits must be checked into the aircraft hold.
Checked Baggage Policy
Checked baggage allowance for Air
India flights departing from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) is based
on the passenger’s fare type and travel class:
Economy Class
• Value: 25 kg (55 lbs)
• Classic: 30 kg (66 lbs)
• Flex: 35 kg (77 lbs)
Premium Economy Class
• Value: 25 kg (55 lbs)
• Flex: 35 kg (77 lbs)
Business Class
• Value: 40 kg (88 lbs)
•
Flex: 45 kg (99 lbs)
First Class
• 45
kg (99 lbs)
Each checked baggage piece must not exceed 158 cm (62 inches)
in total linear dimensions (length + width + height).
The maximum weight
permitted for any single checked baggage piece is 32 kg (70 lbs). Baggage
exceeding this limit must be transported as cargo in accordance with applicable
regulations.
Passengers should verify the baggage allowance shown on
their Air India ticket before arriving at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
Extra Baggage
Additional baggage may be purchased
through Air India before departure, subject to availability and applicable
charges.
Excess baggage charges apply when baggage exceeds the permitted
allowance in weight, number of pieces, or dimensions.
Sports equipment,
oversized baggage, and other special baggage items may require advance
notification and are subject to additional charges and handling procedures.
