Lor Mee

Lor Mee (also written Loh Mee) is a Chinese-inspired noodle dish served in a
thick starchy gravy and thick flat yellow noodles (also known as lor mee).
It is available at many hawker stalls and eateries all throughout Malaysia. The
thick gravy is made of corn starch, spices and eggs. The ingredients added into
the noodles are usually ngo hiang, fish cake, fish ball, soy sauce boiled egg
and other items depending on the stall and the price paid.
Chili sauce and garlic can be added as an optional item. The dish sometime also
eaten with black vinegar. Traditional versions also include bits of fried prawns
as topping though few stalls serve this version anymore.
Many Hokkien Mee stalls sell Lor Mee on the side, but to get really good Lor Mee,
go for stalls that sell only Lor Mee. They are more likely to have the fully
range of Lor Mee ingredients.
