Usukan Cove
The Usukan Cove is actually located in one of the eight beautiful beaches
here in Kota Belud. Visitors can see clusters of houses in the neighboring
villages by taking a stroll along the stretch of golden sandy beach. Usukan Cove
is where you should go for a getaway.
Here is where you can unwind and lie on a hammock under the shade with a good
book and let your mind loose. There are plenty of activities here such as diving
or snorkeling.
There are myriads of marine creatures waiting to be explored. If you like
exploring and viewing natural scenery, get on a kayak and take yourself on a
self-tour around the island. Another more interesting activity that can be done
here in Usukan Cove is fishing.
A fishing yacht will take visitors to the middle of the sea, about 20 minutes
away from the mainland to fish. Do expect some good catches such as garoupas,
puffer fishes, and even sting rays. These can be brought back to be cooked for
dinner or simply releasing them back to the sea.
You can also take a cruise down the Kawa Kawa River where you can watch from
close distance the proboscis monkeys, long-tailed macaques and some other
species of birds. Depending on the weather, visitors may have the chance to
watch fireflies that form together around the trees which appear like a network
of twinkling lights.
There are plenty of other attractions in Sabah other than Usukan Cove. Do
consider extending your stay here to fully immerse yourself in the uniqueness of
Sabah.
