Linangkit Cultural Village
The Linangkit Cultural Village is located in Tuaran and it is a great place 
to personally get acquainted with the Lotud people which are one of the 32 
ethnic groups in the land below the wind.
The cultural village is more precisely located at Kampung Selupoh. It is only at 
the Linangkit Cultural Village that you will be able to view in detail the 
social life and culture of the Lotud people of Sabah. Lotud, who is a sub-ethnic 
of Kadazandusun and have a population of nearly 10,000, most reside around 
Tamparuli, Telipok and Tuaran areas.
When on a visit here, you will be given a guided tour around the village. There 
will be chances for visitors to try on the traditional costumes of the Lotud 
people. 
Visitors can also watch the handicraft-making demonstrations, traditional food 
preparations, traditional fish netting, river cruise, firefly watching, and 
tapioca plucking. Linangkit is a unique form of needle work and handmade 
decorative embroidery using interlacing knots. It is used to decorate and join 
seams by Lotud.
Your visit to the cultural village will not be complete without trying the local 
delicacies of the Lotud people. The Linangkit Cultural Village is open daily 
from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm.
Getting There
Linangkit Cultural Village is located at Kampung Selupoh, Tuaran, about 37 
kilometers from Kota Kinabalu.
The journey to Linangkit Cultural Village takes around 40 minutes drive from 
Kota Kinabalu. For transportation, visitors can either drive or take a taxi from 
the city centre.
