Jesselton Point Water Front
The Jesselton Point Water Front was initially known as Kota Kinabalu Ferry 
Terminal and has been a famous attraction in Kota Kinabalu since its 
privatization back in February 2006. The Jesselton Point Water Front is an 
important terminal for Labuan-bound passengers. This is also the main boat 
terminal for those who wish to go to the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park and Gaya 
Island.
Jesselton Point does not only serve as a boat terminal. It is also a place for 
casual dining, leisure and shopping. There are many alfresco cafes, food and 
beverage outlets, handicraft stalls and even some futsal courts. Popular foods 
here include the authentic Indonesian cuisine at the Nasi Padang Ibu Restaurant. 
There is also delicious gelato at the Dream Cones. 
There are plans to expand Jesselton Point to cater to more recreational and 
commercial facilities. There are also plans as building residential facilities 
in the area.
To cut the story short, Jesselton Point is an excellent choice of place to go to 
rest and relax as well as to unwind after a long week of work. Other than 
Jesselton Point, do not miss then chance to visit world renowned diving spots in 
Sabah. They include the Manukan Island, Sapi Island and Mamutik sland.
Getting There
The best way to get around Kota Kinabalu is via taxi or by renting a car. 
Distance between Jesselton Point and Kota Kinabalu International Airport is 
around 8.0 km. Due to increasing demand, there are regular airport bus serving 
the Airport and Kota Kinabalu city center. The ticket counter and station of 
airport bus is at Padang Merdeka, Kota Kinabalu city center.
There are also city buses which you may opt for. Route A starts at Wawasan Bus 
Terminal, travels along the waterfront all the way to Jesselton Point. It then 
turns along Tunku Abdul Rahman Road on the other side of town and heads back to 
Wawasan Bus Terminal.
