Gurney Drive
Located in the northern part of Penang, Gurney Drive is one of the most
popular attraction in Penang. The famous seafront is popular among tourists and
too, locals. Redshanks can be seen everywhere, wadding in the water of Gurney
Drive Penang. There are also other birds and mudskippers around.
Besides the amazing breeze and scenic view, the Gurney Drive Hawker Centre is
what attracts tourist as well as locals. They offer a large variety of local
delicacies including Asam Laksa, Rojak and much more.
Penang Gurney Hotels such as G Hotel and Evergreen Laurel Hotel are situated
just opposite the seafront. Not far away from the hotels, you can have a
shopping spree in Gurney Plaza Shopping Centre.
Getting There
From Penang International Airport, take the taxi by buying a ticket from the
ticket counter just outside the arrival hall. It takes around 30 minutes to
reach Gurney Drive.
From the Airport, you can also take a bus namely Rapid Penang U401 or U401E to
Weld Quay. Then, switch to Rapid Penang U103. This destination of this bus is
Tanjung Bungah, thus, get down from the bus at Gurney Plaza. The Plaza is one of
landmark in Gurney Drive.
