Sibu Airport

Sibu Airport (IATA: SBW, ICAO: WBGS) is an airport located 23 km (14 mi)
South East of Sibu, a town in the state of Sarawak in Malaysia. The airport is
the 10th busiest airport in Malaysia and the 3rd busiest in Sarawak.
The airport underwent an expansion project that involved upgrading of the
terminal building, car park and the addition of more aerobridges. The upgraded
Sibu Airport was inaugurated on 16 September 2012. The airport terminal is the
second largest airport terminal in Sarawak, after
Kuching International Airport.
The airport is located at elevation of 122 ft (37 m) above mean sea level. It
has one asphalt surface runway designated 13/31 oriented by measures of 9006 ft
(2745 m) in length.
From the Airport, you may purchase a taxi coupon in arrival hall to go to Sibu
town center. The fee is approximately RM45. There is no direct bus services
connecting the Airport to town center.
Malaysia Airlines
and AirAsia are the main users
of this airport.
For cheaper option, you can walk about 6 minutes to the road junction outside
the Airport to take the stage buses.
