Langkawi International Airport

Langkawi International Airport (IATA: LGK, ICAO: WMKL), is an airport
situated on the duty-free island of Langkawi in the state of Kedah in Malaysia.
Langkawi International Airport is located at Padang Matsirat and 13 km from town
centre, Kuah. It is about 20 minutes of driving with private car.
The airport has been refurbished to cater to the increasing demand of the
tourism and business industry.
With an extended terminal and runway capable of accommodating B747 aircraft-type
operation, the airport is equipped to handle 2.5 million passengers annually and
1,000 passengers during peak hours. Flights from the Malaysia capital Kuala
Lumpur to the airport take about an hour.
The Langkawi International Airport is a tourist attraction because it serves as
a venue for the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA)
which is an international aerospace event for aviation industry and aero
performances for the public.
